Found north of Cap Malheureux, close to L'ile Plate, this island of area 42.2 hectares still abounds with some species of endemic flora. For example, "Le Baume de L'ile Plate" (Psiadia arguta, Asteraceae) or the "Latanier" (Latania loddigesii, Arecaceae) and Vacoas (Pandanus vandermeerschii, Pandanaceae).
Ilot Gabriel is an idyllic spot only 20km away form Mauritius. It is an ideal destination and a popular lunch stop for day cruises. Fortunately the island remains largely uncrowded.

The Ilot is very famous for its bright white beaches and the water is so clear that a swim is a must. So don’t forget to bring along your swimsuit, towel and mask and tuba.

On the way, you will be able to admire the massive island of Coin De Mire which is found 8 kilometers to the north of Mauritius with its bird population of mainly Pailles en Queue.

It is a full day cruise, the departure at Grand Bay 09 00 and return at 16 30. A barbeque of fish or chicken accompanied with raw fresh salads and the Mauritian favorite beverage ‘Rum Coka’ will be served.
